Depremin düşmanı çelik: Sarsıntıyı absorbe ederek esneklik sağlıyor

İnşaat mühendisi Kenan Keskin, betonarme yapılardaki her türlü malzemeyle oynanabileceğini belirterek, "İnsanlar maliyeti ne kadar az tutarsak o kadar kâr elde ederiz düşüncesiyle bina yapıyor. Çelik öyle değil, belirli bir şekilde dünya standartlarına uygun yapımı var, başka bir şekilde üretim yapamıyoruz. Avrupa'da birçok dünya eseri diye nitelendireceğimiz yapılar çeliktir, örneğin Eyfel Kulesi" dedi.

Dünya standartlarına uygun şekilde üretilen çelik ağırlıklı olarak sanayi yapıları, tünel ekipmanları, yol ve köprü konstrüksiyonları, spor tesisleri, alışveriş merkezleri, makine ve enerji sektörlerinde kullanılıyor. Konut projelerinde de kullanılmaya başlanan çelik, hafifliği ve esnekliği sayesinde depremin oluşturduğu sarsıntılara karşı büyük bir avantaj sağlıyor. Ayrıca çelik yapılar, deprem enerjilerini kendi içinde sömürerek binanın esnek kalmasına ve betonarme yapılara oranla daha az yıkım ve zarara uğruyor. Betonarme yapılara göre dönüştürüle bilirliği olan çelik, ekonomik olarak avantaj oluşturuyor. Sakarya’da Mono Steel fabrikasında inşaat mühendisliği yapan Kenan Keskin, çeliğin korunması durumunda betonarme yapılara göre daha uzun ömürlü olduğunu kaydetti.

Hafifliği ve esnekliği sayesinde depremin oluşturduğu sarsıntılara karşı büyük bir avantaj sağlıyor. Betonarme yapılar, çeliğe göre daha ağır olduğu için deprem sırasında yıkılma riski daha fazla oluyor. Ayrıca çelik imalat aşamasında fabrikalarda üretilip sahaya gönderildikten sonra montajı yapıldığı için betonarmeye göre bir zaman kazandırıyor. Bu yüzden tercih edilmesinin sebeplerinden bir tanesi de budur. Özellikle bu durum deprem gibi afetlerde ortaya çıkan barınma alanı, altyapı sistemleriyle bizlere bir şekilde çözüm sağlamaktadır. Bunun haricinde çelik yapılar, deprem enerjilerini kendi içinde sömürerek binanın esnek kalmasını sağlar. Bu esneklikle de binanın yıkılmasını önler. Betonarme yapılar daha sert yapılar olduğu için kırılmalar ve yıkım riski daha fazla oluyor. Bu sebeple de deforme olmadan çelik yapılar ayakta kalabilmektedir. Ayrıca çelik dönüştürülebilen bir malzeme olduğu için ekonomik açıdan büyük bir avantaj sağlamaktadır. Türkiye'de çelik kullanımı betonarmeye gör kıyasla belli bir mesafeye gelmemiş oranda ve Türkiye'de çelik yapı oranı hala düşük. Ancak son yıllara baktığımızda endüstriyel yapılarda büyük çaplı yapılarda çelik kullanımının arttığını görmekteyiz. Özellikle deprem sonrasında yeniden inşa süreçlerinde çelik yapıların kullanılmasının daha fazla teşvik edilmesi gerektiğine inanıyorum. Hem güvenlik hem de hızlı uygulanabilirlik açısından bence çelik geleceğin yapı malzemesi olmalıdır" dedi.
"Çelik yapılar yıkılabilir ama betonarmeye göre verdiği zarar ve yıkım daha az olur"Muhtemel depremlerde çelik yapıların betonarme yapılara oranla sağlamlık ve can kayıplarındaki risk oranına ilişkin de bilgilendirmelerde bulunan Keskin, "Bununla ilgili 'Minimuma indirir, tamamen bina yıkılmaz' diye kimse söylemiyor. Gerekli hesapları varsayım olarak yapıyoruz. Yaptığımız statik, paket programlar olsun belli bir durumu kabul ederek program yapıyoruz. Depremin nasıl bir etki getireceğini bilmediğimiz için belirli katsayılarla bunu önlemeye çalışıyoruz. Tabii ki çelik yapılar yıkılabilir ama betonarmeye göre verdiği zarar ve yıkım daha az olur" diye konuştu.

"Neticede biz insanların yaşayabileceği ortamları inşa ediyoruz. Bu yeterince denetlenmediği zaman, çıkan programdaki verilerle oynamak çok basit. Denetleyici kuruluşlar yeteri kadar denetleme yapmadığı zaman yapıları dikenler, işlerini prosedüre göre yapmıyor. Bundan dolayı deprem anında da asrın felaketini yaşayabiliyoruz ve ne yazık ki hiç akıllanmıyoruz. Bu son depremden akıllandık diyoruz ama bakıyoruz her şeyin aynı şekilde devam ettiğini görüyoruz. Betonarmede her türlü malzemeyle oynanabiliyor ama çelik öyle değil, belirli bir şekilde dünya standartlarına uygun yapımı var, başka bir şekilde üretim yapamıyoruz. Betonarmede bu homojenliği bozabiliyor insanlar. Örneğin demirini az koyabiliyor, betonuyla oynuyor bir şekilde malzemeden çalma dediğimiz olayı yapabilir. Çelik yapıların bakımının da kolay olduğuna dikkat çeken inşaat mühendisi Kenan Keskin, "Çelik yapıların bakımı da kolay betonarme yapıları yaptıktan sonra en fazla boyasına müdahil olabiliyorsunuz ama çelik yapılarda öyle değil. Bir bina için 50 yıl biçilirken, çelik ise bakımları yapılırsa 100-150 yılları görebiliyor. Çelik, yangına karışı zayıf bir malzeme. Yangından iyi muhafaza edilirse ve korozyona karşı korunursa çok uzun ömürlü yapılar çıkabiliyor. Nitekim baktığımızda, Avrupa'da birçok dünya eseri diye nitelendireceğimiz yapılar çeliktir, örneğin Eyfel Kulesi çeliktir. Bakımı düzgün yapıldığı için bu zamana kadar gelmiştir" ifadelerini kullandı.
